Counseling & Psychotherapy
Big Sky Mind offers a comfortable space for conversation, reflection, and understanding. Established in 2010 by psychotherapists Jonathan and Janelle Railey, we are located on Merrimon Avenue in Asheville, North Carolina.
About Jonathan & Janelle
We are interested in the human experience and all of its contradictions. Our training and approach to therapy rests on the notion that when we can talk openly about our thoughts and feelings in a safe and secure environment, we can come to understand ourselves more fully.

Psychodynamic therapy is a traditional form of psychotherapy rooted in psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory, and the latest findings of neurobiology.
Existential psychotherapy further emphasizes universal human concerns such as decision-making, personal responsibility, love, and mortality.
Contemplative psychotherapy assumes that we all have, within us, a natural dignity and wisdom. In this view, human nature is characterized by clarity, openness and compassion.
Individual therapy is a profound relationship for resolving pain and for personal growth. We specialize in working with people with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, PTSD, personality disorder, and childhood trauma.
Younger people can benefit from psychotherapy, too- particularly when experiencing challenges or difficulties related to school/peer relationships, divorce, grief, neglect/abandonment, and developmental changes.
